The soft gel-packs can be placed anywhere inside the adjustable shoulder compression wrap for pinpoint placement of ice or heat. The thin material covering over the soft gel-packs has a hook and loop material that holds the placement of the soft-gel packs anywhere inside the shoulder wrap. 1) I purchased the shoulder Active Wrap just days before my rotator cuff surgery. Some friends recommended an ice pump but it was pricey and the doctor said I would not be icing for long. I did not think that ice in a bag or frozen peas would stay on my shoulder. I purchased this because I wanted to be able to move around while icing. It comes with 2 ice packs, which also can be used as heat packs, and it fits snuggly over the shoulder. There are velcro straps to adjust the fit. This wrap has been extremely useful since I am still icing after my workouts which will continue for several months. I recommend the product even if you just have shoulder pain.

2) I have several Active Wrap products and am very happy with all of them. The are flexible and comfortable to wear. Whether you want heat or cold, the packs are adaptable either way. I think they are a good value.
